High, swashbuckling adventure, fun, & games await every potential participant in our unique 2016 Annual Ancient Tribal Battles & Games Fest - a Lakota Ways event to be held on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation every year! Ancient Tribal battles & games between Native bands based on Tribal Elders' knowledge, history, oral stories, Winter Counts, journal entries will be recreated for theatrical reenactmen and actively enjoyed by all. Some games to look forward to are: Cangleska Kutepi (Spear/Hoop Game); Women's Plum Seed Game; Petagakici'inpi; Hand Game tournaments; and many more. Some great battles revived for stage (which include heavy hands-on interaction from audience!) from history or oral storytelling are Wichapi Hinhpaya's battles with wily, menacing monsters; Inyan Hoksila's destroying of Wanbli Luta; battles between Shoshone, Lakota, Pawnee, Crow, Ojibwe, etc. Much is to be learned and experienced in this event.
