2016 Giant Modern Fine Art QuadrinnaleTM

Lakota Ways Rain Dancer Modern Fine Art Gallery EventTM

2016 launches the first year of our Lakota Ways GIANT MODERN FINE ART QUADRINNALE on the scenic, historic Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

Every four years, every participating disctrict or village on the reservation will transition into a new piece - all of which are grounded in ancient Wolakota philosophical, mathematical tribal thought affiliated with the Oglala Lakota (misnamed the 'Sioux').

Visitors from around the globe are welcome to take a full tour of each site explaining the Quadrinnale's details. Click our following button here to book now.

Once our Quadrinnale opens in 2016, the event is year round (save for a few months during Spring seasons when artists are hard at work rebuilding new pieces to replace the former every four years).

Alongside each grandiose installation are the crafters of that district and village. In this way, visitors can purchase beautiful handmade pieces authentically Native American, local, and directly from crafter to buyer on the beautiful Pine Ridge Indian Reservation while enjoying world class innovations in modern fine art.

Additionally, each giant, modern fine art project will strictly adhere to the following criteria:

1. Works must not use recognizable, typically disseminated, 'expected' images in Native American art.

2. Works must be grounded with great sophistication in ancient Wolakota philosophy, mathematics, sciences, star knowledge, etc., as advised by informed Tribal Elders.

3. Select artists must authentically reside in the district they create pieces.

4. Artists must be Northern Great Plains tribally enrolled, approved, or otherwise invited.

5. Pieces are never political, nor revolutionary political, nor bear legal subject matter in nature.

6. Pieces refrain from cliched visualities and cliched intellectual intentions.

7. Pieces utilize recycled materials only and beginning in 2020, works are reused from previous giant installation.

The Giant Modern Fine Art Quadrinnale is an extension of the Lakota Ways Rain Dancer Modern Fine Art Gallery.
